Results: 17 species for the day specimen red gurnard .
well we started off at 4 am down to cork my son has just got summer hols so he was looking forward to the trip we had a slow start with the mullet few around but playing hard to get met in with pat from cobh had a chat nice to meet up with him got a few tips from pat most welcome were i picked up a sand smelt .we decided to head out to try a new mark for red gurnards and did it work a treat we had a good few just under the magic 2 lb then we landed a fine specimen of 2 lb 3 oz we headed to another mark were we piced up plenty of haddock to 5 lb few grey gurnards along with launce we moved a good few times around then headed for the smiths were we picked up decent codling to 4 lb plenty of good whiting a few dabs pollock and cookoo wrasse moved again toa rough bit of ground dan had a few decent ling and macs terry had some good whiting there we moved to a mark looking for thornback rays managed a few lsd and 2 huss last move of the day dan picked up a nice black goby we had a few poor cod and wrasse it was a great day out with dan putting us in our place picking up some decent fish as for the sun today i had plenty of sun cream on dan but me and terry ended up looking like racoons from wearing sun glasses weather is up fishing as come alive what more would you need

ooh the chicken of the sea. those are cracking gurnards willy and well done on the species count with this nice spell comes the sunburn all in a days fishing
