Commercials reading reports on here ???

#1 Post by Dave Jolly »

Just something I wanted to bring up, here, and on other sites.
Over the last couple of weeks a few reports have gone up on various sites about people catching Golden Grey mullet at a very small and very specific mark in Cork Harbour.
As well as the golden Greys, comments have been made about picking up (and returning) Bass in the same area.
At 6am Tuesday morning an angler in his boat went into this mark to find a small open boat from Cobh hauling a gillnet stretched from one end of this mark to another.
The same boat and another half decker were also in there last year, and I don't think it's coincidence that they don't go near there until reports online confirm that the fish are "in".
I would ask people on this site and others to please THINK about what they are putting up in their posts, and if possible be very vague about their locations.
By all means be more specific via p.m etc, but just realise that commercials are monitoring this and other online sites and using the information for their own purposes.

Here Here. You couldnt be more correct.I have also seen this along with some "anglers"who have filled their freezers with all kind of species with locations taken from this and similar sites.Catch and release does not register with some people.Doesnt mean we have to stop interaction but if somebody is kind enough to give you the nod on a paticular mark. Its wise to keep it close to your chest in my opinion.

there is a blog that users can add friends to and only they will see the blog.. you can put up a report and keep it as vague as possible and then in your blog add what ever details you want, and set permissions so that only friends can read the blog..
