Report:decided to dig some lug at 11.30 am and try to get a early start to try for turbot and the wife said she would go too,so loaded up the wife and the son and headed off and dug the lug then the wife said she wanted to go for a bit of a tour some where, dropped them off home 6 hours later, had a quick bite to eat and hit off for the beach arrived and was was fishing by 20:00
the lug worked well, landed this lad

which I think is a flounder or would it be a dab,not sure let me know which it is

shortly after I got a message from spindlefist to say he was fishing a pier so loaded everything back in the car and headed off to meet him after 20 mins arrived and after a chat set up the rods
I set up a 3 hook flapper with lug and cast out then I used the feathers for awhile and had pollack and coalfish

later had another flounder

I didn't have the lines in the water as long as I would have liked today but still it was nice to meet Daire and catch a few fish as well

Your mystery fish is a flounder Gerry, anyone who pops up to claim otherwise is mightily wrong :D . Easiest check, and its clear even from the pic is to rub your fingers up the fishes back from tail to head. Dabs are rough all over, flounder only along the lateral line.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D
