lacken back strand 26/05/2010

#1 Post by saving private brian »

People ;myself and 2 mates

Duration 9 30 -00 30

Tide lw 11 20

Weather stong northerly winds at first but decreasing.nice enough nite.

Bait lug,bluey,sandeel,squid

Rigs pulley,2 hook flappers

Result seaweed

Report ; a mate of mine rang me at 11am wednesday morning to say he had purchased a new beachcaster and reel.i called up to him and browsed his new product and we organised a small session for the nite to break the rod in.1 more mate came along too.we first went to see if we cud get some mackerel of the cliffs for bait as i had ran out of some.not even a sign and we nearly got blown of the cliff so we put a halt to that.got to the beach at 9pm and rods out for 9 30pm.we got seaweed every cast and no matter where and what distance we casted.there was a good surf up on the beach with the winds hitting us right in the face.we waited an hour after the turn of the tide to see if things wud improve but that never happened so we packed up and headed for home.not a good start 4 his new rod but thats life

no pics unfortunately.

lifes a blank :D

Cold northerlies on the Back Strand is always time to head for the high stool in Bessie's, Brian. :)
Its pretty bad all round, trip out to Belmullet last week produced very little, and the rivers are all desprit low.
