Fish ID

Come across plenty of these whilst hoaking for peelers under sea weed and rocks, any of you fish experts able to id it. Was thinking juvenile conger. No obvious tail. the fin just wraps around the rear end of it's body!

yes butterfish defo
if it cant get its jaws round a 1/0 its not worth catching [ mullet excluded ]

Yeah Butterfish, usually loads in rockpools.

Caught one last night in Wicklow Harbour! The lads were very impressed when I knew the species name! ha!
2010 - Whiting, Dogfish, 3 bearded Rockling, Shore Rockling, Pollock, Dab, Plaice, Launce, Sea Scorpion, Goby, Gunnel, Codling, Red Cod, Smooth Hound, Ballan Wrasse, Corkwing Wrasse
