Rigs; feathers,red gills.plastic lures

Species; pollock, coalies, mackerel.wrasse, cod and the fighting pouting

Report.

Woke up this morn to hear the sound of a diesel car engine to which i knew it was my aunts husband who owns a character boat here in killala.i quickly rose and foned him and placed a berth on his boat for the day.we left the harbour at 9 30 am and had a 1 and 3/4 hours steam to our fishing mark.it was well worth it.we started firstly catching mackerel 4 bait and there was loads of them.then we all switched our rigs to bottom gear rigs.on the first drift we cud of filled the boat with coalies.coming in there two's and 3's.we left that mark and went else where were we picked up some nice pollock.as the day went on we continued to pick up the pollock along with cod, wrasses and poutings.i had one cod up to the side of the boat and the next thing i looked and he was swimming away.i was fuming.he prob about 4-5 lb.the weather remaing great for the day but the drift was a small fraction to slow.there was no sign of any ling today unfortunately.at around 4 30pm we headed back for port and every one had a great day and the fish were plentyful.

every one here caught more than 10 pollock .pollock between 4 of us = approx 50 fish
coalies=approx 40.tony got 2 cod and a wrasse.i got 2 wrasse and 2 pouting aswell as loads of mackerel.

Excellent day out Brian, where did you head for, west along the cliffs or out to the Donegal side?

Must get my yoke out on the water soon - builders!
