Cleggan

#1 Post by mphigham »

Hi Chaps. My first post on here. I`m staying in a cottage next Sat for a week 15th May next to Cleggan Pier. Can anyone give me any tips, bait ideas for fishing off the pier and local rock marks in the area. I will be taking two rods, one for ledgering at distance whilst possibly float fishing close in on the other. Or any combination as required. Any advice would be very welcome.
Cheers.

Martin. :P

I would also appreciate some info re: Cleggan. I'm within driving distance & I might get out there sometime during the summer!

Well unfortunately I`m back from Cleggan. Had a great week`s fishing and had around 50 mackerel last monday 17th May off Cleggan Pier. Rest of week was mixed with no more Mackerel showing although plenty of Dogfish in the evenings, a 3lb Thornback Ray and a Pound and a half Flounder.

at least you got the mack at the start of your week - for a bit of bait

at least the rod saw some action!
