Report:After an all nighter last weekend with SFA to show for it, and not to be bested, headed back to the same spot in Wexford to get that bass. Got set up for 7pm on what looked like a lake, far from ideal. Decided to forget the bass as it looked like it was going to be a scratchy evening and set up 2 rods. Fished 1 at distance with peeler hoping for a smoothie pup and stuck a 3 hook flapper (size 2's) baited with rag on a carp rod to fish the gutter for flats. About an hour in I was reeling in the small rod to change baits when it started to kick, couldn't believe it a 2lb 4oz bass had hit the moving bait. Five and a half hours in the damp and dark last weekend with a good surf and a stiff breeze as opposed to flat calm in daylight!!!
Set up the other rod in close after that and missed a good bite. Picked up a couple of small dabs and a codling before packing up at 10pm. Got chatting to a guy who was down from Larne with a small club of anglers for the weekend, he never stopped smiling while we were talking, never saw a man so happy to be fishing. Hope he gets the bass he's looking for.

Stopped off at "Wickla strand" on the way back to Dublin for 2 hrs. Rods were frustratingly nodding away for the whole session with no hook ups until the last cast when I foul hooked one of the culprits. Oh no, not this again!!!!!!!
