Re Imax

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Hi Lads

Have spotted the Imax White Squall Smock, does anyone have this or any opinions on it.. Have gathered that it is more suited to Spring/Summer fishing..

Iv got it the smock and salopettes the smock is more of a wind breaker but it is water proof (showers) the whole outfit is fine for summer use but if you where going to use it through winter you will have to wear a few extra layers of clothes

The salopettes shrunk a little on the leg on me after a few washes so get a larger size if you can...

Thanks for that Tony, it is for the summer fishing that i am looking for and it seems to be at a good price at the moment, i will probably get a cotton smock to go inside for the night fishing. Will probably go up a size based on what you have said.

Thanks again

Seamus

Used the smock on Saturday night, had the cotton smock underneath, worked out perfect, saying that it was a grand evening without rain or wind, and also a lack of fishies :D :D :D north easterlies   Very happy with the smock

Hi SAI Hammerhead,
just on my second smock and must admit whilest newish they are fantastic. Be careful while washing them to make sure they last and a good spray of waterproofing every 6 months should see them last. I love the fact that they are light so you can layer away to keep out the chill. At the new price of <£50 in Veals and a few others they are a great price. Hope this helps. :D

how're you wild rover, welcome to the site, unfortunately the imax smock did not work out for me, 5 sessions = 5 wettings, picked up the greys apollo smock and have been dry ever since, also the greys is a heavier quality smock so should with an extra layer or two take me through the winter,

That has to be down to quality control Hammerhead. I've had no probs and know two chaps with the original ones and they are the same but after hearing a few replies on the boards here I can see it's a case of some are happy and some not. I agree the Greys Apollo is a heavier material. If they're as good as their fleeces you'll be very happy.
