sea trout

ha all.... im going out to a mark this sunday where i know there are sea trout as i have seen them before out there... i have not fished them before so if anybody can give me some tips,, eg..bait,rigs,method,, anything that might help.......thanks.......
SHORE SPECIES 2012... coalie,

boat species09~~~pollack,cod,haddock,whiting,doggies,bullhuss,tope,john dory,thornebsck,blonde,blue shark,spur dog,wrase,gunnard,pouting,

shore species 2010~~~ dab,flounder,thorneback ray,pollack,plaice,coalies,turbot,wrasse,bull huss, lsd...

boat trips 4 result..pouting,, spurdog.pollack,
shore trips 2010.... 36.....

Mackerel strip or sandeel are good baits for sea trout, I find they tend to be caught just out beyond the breaking surf... don't forget your licence, and if its in the Western region all sea trout have to be returned alive
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

thanks for that bradan... i intend to release any that may be caught if any.......

Good luck alan, i find a thin mackeral strip(silver part is best) or sandeel the best baits for them. It would be worth spinning a sandeel in the surf too, or use the smallest size toby with a gold back and black front with gold stripes. I also find that a tazmanian devil black one side and white the other works well. Thats what i always got mine on anyway, iv had over 12 some days in mayo so they definatly work :) good luck, let me know how you do!

thanks chris for that as i said i never fished them before so all advise taken in... let you know how i get on....

I caught most of my Trout on a two hook flapper with half a Sandeel on each hook, have had a few on small lug tipped a long thin strip of mac in the past & if spinning I use a small condor deadly for them!
