mini species session 29/4/10

#1 Post by stevecrow74 »

People:myself and herself

Duration: a few hours

Tide: just after high

Weather:breezy with a touch of rain

Bait:mack

Rigs: single hooks size 8's & 10's

Results: coalfish, tompot blenny, pollock, long spined sea scorpion.

Report:
Got a txt from herself saying she'd be finishing work early, so i said i'd do dinner and then we could head off fishin for a while..
she eventually arrived (after getting lost travelling though town), and dinner was just ready, filled her spinning reel with line (she has her own stuff, well for spinning and boat fishing that is... not that any of it ever got used before though) after dinner, and headed out to a local mark..

set myself up first and proceeded to laugh as she tried to set up, eventually i took over and we were fishing away in no time.. i was first off with a coalfish, and it wasnt long before she plucked out a fish.. and no ordinary fish but a tompot blenny.. so i changed my hook size from a 1 to 10 seeing as there were some mini's about and i was straight i with a corkwing wrasse, soon followed by a pollock.. the tide was ebbing and the light was fading as i pulled out a long spined sea scorpion.. this one was grunting at me the whole time.. sounded more like a frog..
started to get dark so we called it a night (cos after all it was becoming night :P ) and packed up..
nice to see the mini species are slowly coming in.. must give it a few more weeks and have another go at them..

well it was the first time she used any of her own fishing stuff...
Just starting her off slow and getting her used to casting before we head south for silver :D

If she is anything like me when I first started fishing you would need to start her off slow.
It took me quite a while to sort myself out but now I'm doing alright.
I didn't have very much confidence when I first started off, it's abit better now but still needs improving. I have found this site and most of the people on it have been great at encouraging me and giving me confidence just to go out and fish and not worry about what people think of you, it was quite intimidating at first when I joined but it's fine now.
Get her to log on and then I won't be the only women, I'll have abit of back-up then   Then it'll be double trouble!!
