cobh and fountainstown saturday 17th april

#1 Post by mawk »

People:myself and joe

Duration:5 hours ish

Tide:over the top and an hour into the ebb

Weather: nice

Bait:peeler, squid, sandeel and fresh mack

Rigs:flappers, clip downs, heavy conger rigs and pullys

Results:
squat. at all.
not a bite. any bait, any range any rig. boo urns.

had a buddy down from waterford for the weekend and though he isnt a regular fisher he was eager to get out and pull the lips off something.
started off in fountainstown cause it was close. not a bite.
I thought joes ability in casting was probably not helping so we motored off to cobh where hopefully distance wouldnt be such a problem. even tried to pull a conger out from under the pier. but still nothing all afternoon. met some other anglers who had also come from elsewhere with no luck all day either. one of those days

Report:
species 2010: whiting, cod, flounder, coalfish, short spined sea scorpion, pollack, herring, conger
