It's not to hard once you have found an appropriate spot.
Channels are good, but then what kind of lure are you intending to fish?
The Kilty lure is a good all round lure,in say'n that there is a massive choice from top water lures,
mid surface lures to deep diving lures.Try Jim Hendrick in Wexford if you need more detailed info on this.

Re: Help Bass on a lure
It is probably a bit early yet for lure fishing as the water is still cold. Hopefully by May it will be warm enough.
Fish off rocks or into an estuary where you know there are bass. Next comes the type of lure. The Kilty lure is a great all round lure. The type of plug used depends on the depth. Feed Shallow lures are deadly. I also find that Rapala Sliver good in deep water.
No doubt other bass fishermen will have their favourite lures also.
What part of the country do you live in? You may find a local angler who is willing to bring you out for a day.
Unless you are in an area where bass are very plentiful you have to be prepared to put in many hours to catch a fish.

Check out Jim's site and you should find the answer to your question and Stan's last point is very true. I would also say don't have loads of lures in your bag when you go out because if you are not catching you will end up changing lure every 5 minutes.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

There are lot of places to try around East Cork or West Waterford. I will be down in Ardmore around the May weekend and will bring you out for a few casts if weather permits.
Talk to Cortaz in Dungarvan. If he cant help you catch a bass nobody can.

there are a lot of fish in your area and you dont have to fish for them at night time to catch them - remember catching them is the easy part, finding them and understanding their patterns is where the challenge lies.
Watch your tide tables, the weather and the type of presentation you are making - there is loads of FREE info here www.probassfisher.com which might be of some help to you -
there are many simple, low cost and yet effective lures out there.

Fish estuaries over low water with xlayers and Tide minnows SLD 145's
Be careful you don't get cut off by incoming tide
