galway bay marks 14/4/10

#1 Post by chrisfeeney30 »

People:myself and husshunter

Duration:6 hours

Tide:dropping most of the time

Weather:e and ne wind, dry

Bait:launce, sandeel and squid

Rigs:clipped downs and flappers

Results:myself: 4 doggies, 1 codling
husshunter: 3 doggies

Report:Decided to try a couple of marks neither of us have fished in a while. Got to the 1st mark, wasnt expecting a whole lot to be honest but we got out baits in the water. Nothing happened for a while, then i got a nice bite on my new rod. Pulled in a nice doggie. Wind dropped for a while and then i got another doggie. Missed a couple of bites in the meantime. Once it got dark my tip rattled and i pulled in a codling of 22 cms. Really red one from living in the kelp.

We moved to a differant nearby mark and nothing happened for a while. The tide was extreamly low and still dropping. We started to pull in doggies every now and again from various distances. All in all not a bad session.

That was the first time iv seen them in that particular area in any numbers in a good while. Before that it was just the odd one every now and again!
