Re: mighty bright tape
i use it and find it good. never used the solas tape so cant compare it. its pretty cheap too so if you dont like it just take it back off. might be a little bit of adhesive left on the rod but a quick wash with warm soapy water will sort that.

Re: mighty bright tape
dont think it is as thick as the solas stuff, comes in pretty colours and i think there is a black 'eclipse' for those that like to take themselves seriously or just wear black like Stevecrow

Re: mighty bright tape
its ok and you wont need sunglasses to look at your rod tips i do however find its not as sticky as others ,i got the chap on ebay to do my name for my golds backpack and applied it with heat from a hair dryer (not mine i neednt say
)two years on and its still solid
like all tip tape give your rod a good clean first and try not to touch the adhesive with your fingers as the oil in your skin will stop it from sticking
the advantage is it comes in different colours for tackle tarts

Re: mighty bright tape
I've bought the "mighty brite" in both red and white and am "mighty disappointed". Two rods on the one tripod. Result ...the rod tipped with the solas far out shines the over hyped newcomer on the rod beside it when viewed using either a white or red LED headtorch.

Re: mighty bright tape
Have some on two rods, its decent enough and I've had no problem with it not sticking, but its not quite as bright as some sakuma tip tape I have on another rod (dont know who manufacturers the sakuma tape)

Re: mighty bright tape
well I took off the soaris stuff. .... which took and hour and a half... not a bit of residue left... applied the mighty bright tape, all I can say the same thing happened... the stuff has no adhesive strength at all. £5 down the drain, now I have to go and get the same stuff I had on...
the only good thing is that it was cut into handy strips

Re: mighty bright tape
Just got my hands on the white safety tape from halfords, all i'll say is it is the brightest reflective tape i have ever used and good value too for a roll.I think a few lads down here ve the black mighty brite tape and are very happy with it,don't know about the adhesive side of things only time will tell.

Re: mighty bright tape
think a trip to halfords is in order.had the same problem with mighty bright tape the adhesive on the back doesnot seem to be up to the job!!!lasted less than an hour ,and that was cleaning the blank and then allowing to dry and clean it again waste of time, money and effort if you ask me.
