Cairnlough Beach- 4/4/10- Competition

People- Harry Mckee Junior, Myself and whoever else

Duration- 5 hrs

Tide- Push, Slack and Drop

Weather- Fantastic- maybe a bit too calm

Bait- Variety

Rigs- Variety

Results- I got 2nd in jrs and Harry 2nd in srs.

Report-
we hit the road around 10.15 or so. stopped to dig some Lug on the way up. got a load, so we hit the road again, got up in cairnlough early, so we had a chip before the competition. The competition started at 2pm. First fish caught was a Turbot at 25cm, I then got a 22cm flounder harry then got one at 22cm, probably the same one as i got!! :lol: :lol: another 2 counters were caught by another junior down the beach. fishin was pretty bad, but all in all a few fish. a few undersized caught also!!
Lure caught Fish 2014- Pollack, Coalie, Pouting, Poor Cod, Dab, Cod, Whiting, Flounder, Plaice, Bass, SeaTrout, Grey Gurnard, Scad, SandSmelt, Red Gurnard, Launce, Lesser Sandeel, Rock Goby, Black Goby, Shanny, Mackerel, Herring, Dragonet, Ballan Wrasse, Corkwing Wrasse, GoldSinney Wrasse, Lesser Weaver, Butterfish, Perch, Pike

Fly Caught Fish 2014- Pollack, Coalie, Whiting, Mackerel, Sea Trout, Brown Trout, Perch, Roach

Biggest Fish of 2014-15lb Conger Eel

Well done on getting second place dude,
Sounds like ye had a hard time of it but not to worry all them summer species will be here soon and that should make the comps a bit more lively,

that beach can be hit and miss at the best of times, so you did well enough to get a few :P :P and well done on the 2nd place man.

Nice session dan. As al said that beach is def hit or miss. Normally a great beach for doggies in the summer- def worth fishing when they are about.
