bray 30-3-10

#1 Post by plumster »

People:me

Duration:12-3am

Tide:high midnight

Weather:good

Bait:sandeel,lug

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:codling,coalies

Report:

all this talk of bass in wicklow got me fired up for the drive from bettystown :D so i decided on bray, :? handy enough to get to and if the rain didnt stop i could always fish from the pier using the jeep for shelter :D but luckily enough the rain held off and the moon came out ,the sea was lumpy everything was perfect but was this the bass mark in wicklow :!: not at all ,i knew that but was hoping i was wrong. set up two 12ft carp rods and cast them out ,one about 70 yds and the other around 20. now to make a brew and settle in .was two hours later before i finally managed a cuppa as it was all go from the start , :D bites really showed up on the lighter tackle, ended up with 6 codling just under the lb mark and 3 smaller coalies, missed several other good bites, the usual, lighting up a smoke ,taking a leak so who knows maybe even missed a bass, probably not  .sandeel was by far the best bait on the night all fish returned safely to fight another night.
 now to find that bass mark hmmm any clues, and not the stones.
