does anyone no wat boat fishing is like this time of year from howth? thanks

A bit out of my area is Howth.
Speaking with east coast anglers the situation at this time of year can be bleak enough: lots of small fish!
I have no doubt there would be opportunities for doggie bashing or such like.
I am sure some of the east coast lads will give you a better idea of what it is like.

I've not been out from Howth yet this year. I would guess that it would be very slow. If you know your marks, you might scratch something out of the place, but I'd say a blank would be very likely.

havent been out since october so i dont really know. this time last year we had 4 weeks of whiting no matter what bait we used and no doggies

I was out myself yesterday for a few hours,fishing from Dunlaoghaire.
we had whiting codling dabs and pollack i managed about 40 fish and my mate only managed 4 fish :shock:
not great fishing but great to be out on the water in any case 8)

Hi all. I'm heading out from Howth on Sunday, can anyone recommend any areas to fish and what bait to use please.
I'm taking my dad out for a few hours. It'll be our first trip of the season.

wat part of howth are you going to fissh man i was out on the beech a few weeks ago getting sandells but didnt succseed ...!.!.!.

i was woundering does any1 know if u can fish out on the island?
and if its any good thanks leon

Don't know where i'll fish in Howth, just see where i end up.
I was looking for a few idea's on where to go. Might be a bit early in the season yet.
It'll be nice to get back out for a few hours.

why do you want to go to howth wait until the end of tthis month and go out to dun laoghaire to the mackerel season it does be good crack down there

if you got a car and a bit of spear time you could go Ennereilly Beach in co. wexford i went there a while ago and caught 3 small cod and me uncle caught 3 doggies and 3 cod go to get a break man .. !.!.!.

ny other good spots give us a shout!.!.!

I'm taking my dad out fishing for the day. Howth works out better for me. Also I'll be taking the boat to Cork in a week or two to put her back on her moorings for the season.
It's very hard to get my dad to go to cork for a fishing trip, so that's why I'm taking him out on Sunday before I put the boat back on her mooring.
