Another North Coast Rocking Raid

#1 Post by Drew »

People: Davy, Dan, Drew

Duration: 6.30pm - 10pm

Tide: Dropping

Weather: Windy

Bait: Mackeral

Rigs: Dangling gear

Results: 2 Rockling 1lb4oz, 7oz. Three Billion Coalfish  , A Whiting.

Report:

Went up the coast again tonight to try for some more slimey fellas and let Dan get his first.
All did not go to plan and when we started fishing the evil North Coast coalfish shoal decended on all baits.
So after god knows how many coalies, I managed 2 Rocking and the other guys didn't.
Poor show and I hope we do better next time!

Still good to be out with the lads.
Can't wait for the next one!

That's a nice sized rockling in the picture, there's some good ones showing up lately which is great to see.
Well done everyone, your wee club seems to be doing well since it was formed and you's are getting out for plenty of sessions together which is great. Keep up the good work guys.

nice one drew on getting the 3 beardys, that mark has died off something shocking for them lately :? :? :? i was up at it last week and did'nt even get 1 :( . but seeing as there was a group of 4 local guys fishing for them beside me killing every decent one they were getting, it's not a bloody surprise :x :x :x . they had'nt a clue. when i asked them why they were killing them, they told me they might be specimens, but they had no scales to weigh them on. one of them worked in a butchers shop and was gonna take them into work in the morning to weigh them on the shop scales    . they had 3 in a tesco bag and not one of them would have been more than a pound in weight, so they were'nt even close   . that mark has been hammered of late,, soul destroying stuff. we're just gonna stick to our other mark for them from now on.

That is hateful Al. Makes you want to puke. You would think locals would have a little more sense and not kill off decent fish.
