Actually I was wondering the same thing myself because I was trying to get in touch with him last week about getting a few lures and not had any reply from him. I figured he might just be away for a few days or something but obviously not. :? :?

Just seeing this now myself lads.I too have tried getting in contact with him but i've given up at this stage.Had paid alot of money back in OCT[after breaking a sakura shukan/crap] for his own red rod but after much promises of posting up to me etc it never arrived and more than likely never will and i've given up on it at this stage, never had much luck with these guides some of which i thought were good friends of mine but have left me down with a bang, would love to visit Alderney hear the fishing is brill for bass and a tax haven also  .
Sorry thats off topic and not related here one bit, basically whatever Pat's story is i hope he is ok as thats the main thing regardless of other side issues and i did learn alot from him in the short few months i had met his acquaintenance and i thank him for that. Also spoke to someone close who told me he had'nt heard from him a while and that he was'nt in wateford anymore, best to leave things sort themselves out me thinks.

Ouch! I'd say you'll have to bite the bullet and get some from Henry's.

blatant plug (arf!) for Dan Lynch in Halfway Angling Centre who also has a large range of lures now in stock from Xorus, Megabass, Lucky Craft and more, including all the hot ones Patchinko, Asturie, Gunfish, X-120 etc.

Hi Rocky

Nice plug!

Is this guy around a long time?

Defo pays to deal with someone in business a long time and not some fly by night.

This applies to dealing with anyone in any business not just tackle.

If you pay by credit card arent you insured in cases like this?

I try not to recommend any tackle dealer, however Henrys tackle shop is around a long time and he has a large stock of new type lures and i have always got a good deal and service from them.
They guys themselves do a lot of bass fishing and have experience in using the some of the newer lures and lure rods on the market.

He seemed to be recommended by people here and people on the world sea fishing forums also was recommended by Graham Hill and Henry Gilbey on there blogs and on the World sea fishing forums anyway i think ill be taking a drive down to Waterford in the not too distant future to the address i have for him to see whats going on and to do a bit of fishing,

Plus i ordered some lures from him before without issue so i thought everything was fine then

Not sure if you are referring to Patrick Gallagher or Dan Lynch there, but if it is the latter, then yes and highly recommended.

Hi Rocky

Was referring to Dan lynch, i know Pat Gallagher only started selling gear around this time last year.

Again its important to deal with someone who has a long standing reputation. There is nothing more annoying then paying for stuff and not recieving it.

Interesting that a few guys have said in this thread, PG was recommended by Messrs Hill and Gilbey and both on this and WSF forums.

Perhaps none of us should recommend tackle dealers at all or a least put a warning in the recommendation considering we have nothing to gain by recommending tackle dealers and we leave ourselves open to criticism if the guy dissapears.

Cant wait for the season to start, then we wouldnt have time to be talking about this stuff!

Just a note,
Dan has sponsored the boat competitions and Henry's the shore competitions for Sea Angling Ireland S.A.C. and it’s nice to see posters supporting both tackle dealers.
