I'm with corbyeire on this one, have dug lug to 20" or so at a guess in Dublin, and rag even longer

But dont tend to take photos of the worms, I save that for the fish that they catch

Are the real giant rags just an occasional freak among the normal sized worms, or do you find Kings in groups?

at certain times of year you find them in groups - in fact its awful to say - but you want a few small/medium ones and keep getting these 50cm snakes!!

Last year was fairly poor for the king rag, about an hours digging would yield 20-25 huge worms and maybe 10-15 smaller ones.

2008, I was getting 50 odd big rag in the same time.

They make a great bait chopped into 3-4 inch pieces float fishing for wrasse and pollock, getting 5 to 6 baits out of each worm.

Also great on a big pennel rig for bass and smoothies.
