evening might be better for the fishing, especially if there is little water movement. but i am not fussy!

I figure that too, but I'd prefer if it was a wee bit later on in the tide..

Evening time into night is definitely the best time to fish any of the Wexford beaches, they can be quite barren during daylight.

I've fished Ballyhealy a few times now, and you will generally only catch small flounder during the day, with the odd doggie. Go for an evening (into darkness) match, and there is a good chance of some decent fish showing, especially if there is some surf up.

BTW, I'm definitely free both dates.

True..

Would people be happy with an evening competition-
6-10
or 7-11

I guess pubs are open till 12.30 am if people are concerned ;)

Would really have liked to fish Wexford never having done so before but I've booked a week in Kerry over the 16th so I ain't going to make it. For next year maybe a list of comps and dates could be agreed well in advance (as in the end of this year) so that individuals could make arrangements to keep those dates free. Only a suggestion, what do the rest of you think?

I agree- but we are only at this since February or so.
I am waiting for dates/venues back from others- it is possible we may be in Wexford again this year..

Bugger - turns out I'm going to a wedding in Germany on the 15/16/17, so I can't make it after all. Apologies.

All right
We need to make a decision by Monday evening.

Could members indicate their preference between the 2nd and the 16th (below).

It will be an evening comp in any case.
