Srangford Lough Mark 21/2/10

#1 Post by Grumpy Plugger »

People: Myself & Stuarty.
Location: Strangford Lough Mark( peninsula side).
Duration: 4 Hrs.
Bait: Lug, Sandeel, Squid.

Myself and Stuarty deciced to head out late Sunday afternoon to a wee mark in the Lough we would fish from time to time.
Fished into the evening, got a few knocks at the start with baits being striped. Using small hooks for scratching and think Doggies were striping them. It was freezing down there and during the last hour we managed 3 Codling, Stuarty already had 2 small flounder by that stage.
The Codling were in and around the 2-2.5lb weight.
Battery in camera died so no pics, but im sure you will not lose any sleep over a couple of small Codling.
Was good to get out dispite the cold, better than sitting in...............I think, lol.

(Sorry this post has appeared 4 times on board, but when applying post it seems to take ages & I kept hitting the refresh button and its been put on the board 4 times because of this :?: :?: )

Thanks Al & Jordan, yea shame it wasnt me but Stuarty that had the one 2-2.5lbs but he always is the flukey one when it comes to getting the bigger fish. The majority of the Codling in the Lough are about the same size as your bait, but the past season there has been a few decent size ones caught in places, particulary at a pier on the other side of the Peninsula, sadly I was just there to witness the catches and didnt catch any of them myself, lol! :D
