Stopping bait from moving up the snood?
Just wondering what ye use to stop bait from moving up the snood after casting? I usually just tie a stop knot from a bit of shockleader + trim the tag ends down and seems to do the trick. Any other suggestions? Does it make much of a difference? Thanks.

I use the small rubber bait stops. The ones that are on a loop and you feed the snood line through and slide the bait stop on. Quick and easy! And then just add a float bead.

I use the rubber stops like dfella but generaly i dont add the floaty bead, i use a sequin which helps keep the bait where you want it.I find the mustad rubber bait stops the best.

to be honest mate, that'l do the job fine. i like clear power gum, clear silicon tubing and like you bits of line tied with a 5 turn blood knot. the float stops are really good but in the long run their far more expensive.cw1 wrote:Just wondering what ye use to stop bait from moving up the snood after casting? I use a baiting needle and push the point out 3/4 way down the worm and push the head up onto a ruber bait stop on the rig. Works fine for me even with lng range casts.

I use 10lb mono, 5 turn blood knot and a sequin. Works well, cheap & effective!!

Wel to add to all the fancy stuff, i dont use any stoppers for the bait. When the worm is past the eyelet it normally stays up no matter how far itgoes

Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!
