Re: gear for wear
ya cant beat a flotation suit for keepin ya dry an warm in the winter, you can pick one up from rands such as penn, fladen etc for as little as a hundred euro from tackle shops around ireland or mail order from england. for the spring to autumn time when a flotation suit is a little over bearing ya cant beat an oul hoodie with a good light waterproof jacket an bottoms stored in the tackle box in case of downpours(you can find quality sets of these in most outdoor/camping shops for next to nothing).Lastly an essential piece of equipment for all year round use is a good beach brolly/shelter(ron thompson shelter 80 euro excellent value) to keep ya out of the elements no matter wat way they fall. Extras such as hat gloves etc can also be stored in yer tackle box .

Climb8 are doing a bib'n brace and a smock for incredibly small money!
100% water proof. Not breathable but at the price they are great. Plenty layers underneath and you're away.

Re: gear for wear
Climb8 are in Foxford. Personally, I dislike flotation suits for anything except the boat, too bulky, especially if you're clambering around in the dark or have a long walk with heavy gear. For shore I like the breathable climbing/walking stuff, its lighter and more comfortable than a lot thats sold for fishing. Like with cycling, best to kit out in several layers so you can add/subtract according to how cold/warm you get.
