a bad time of year to be lure fishing. make some simple flapper rigs stick to size 4 hooks and use lug/ frozen lug on it's own or tipped with mackeral. best of luck.

Hi- Not sure about the mark you are fishing. Is it a dirty bottom or a sandy one? As M B said it is a bad time of year for lure fishing. Wait till mid spring before fishing with lures and spinners. Try using bait, experiment with different cocktails, lug and mack, blueys, squid etc etc. Unfortunately there is no quick fix answer- different marks fish differently at different times. Read the reports some of the lads put up for Donaghadee as this palace isn't too Newcastle. That mark seems to be going well and maybe worth a trip?

Hopefully this helps.
