Re: SHORE ANGLING REPORTS
hey, Rathmullen can fish great, and then can be barren, tis an odd mark... but the deep water offered at the end can turn up fish, if ya can hold in the stong tide, just down the fide of the uprights....
I'd find portsalon perhaps more friendly if starting out, fishin into darkness usualy give me flounder and doggies wheneve I've fished it, and many conger off the back walll!!!
good luck
and welcome to the site

Re: SHORE ANGLING REPORTS
i fished rathmullen last week for 3hrs while i was up there on holidays one bite that was it. fished up around portsalon and got a few fish (wasn't from the pier thou). whichever you do enjoy. Just a quick note there maybe a trawler/crabber/mussel boat tied up at the pier in rathmullen. There was one there for 4days (at least) when i was up there last week.

I fished the pier for 4 hrs last week during slack water on a small tide and the crabs weren't even biting
It's all about the fishing

Re: SHORE ANGLING REPORTS
There decent lads that own it, was talking with them last year and got some very usefull info off them and they even told me to fish from the vessel and make tea if I wanted. Port Salon is probably your best bet. Should get a few fish there, too much tide at Rathmullan which could be probmatic for a beginner. I know im late with this but it may be usefull for again. Enjoy your fishing although its hard going at this time of year.herefishyfishy wrote: that mussel boat was there for almost all of 2009, its based there and dredges the mussel beds of the swilly
