well after a few words with davy during the last week we planned trip up north to fish for black mouths one of the species i wanted to target this season. set off from my house at 3 am picked up brian for 4 am on the road motorway thw whole way to belfast made it in 3 hours .rang davy and we met up for 8 am at the slip at island magee boat and gear loaded up we set off to our first mark sounder said 330 ft i looked at brian we dont fish that deep down with us . set the dubby down with anchor took afew mins to set it it settled in 325 ft of water rigs set down with 2lbs of lead did not hold for long .the long wind back up added more lead with 3 lb on the boom set it again it held bottom good . the next hour produced the first huss to brian to 9 lbs plenty of doggie and a few strap congers tide was slack for a while and we all had a few doggies .backed of the leads to 16 oz we all had action then davy has a tell tail bite reeled up and had a huss and the elusive black mouth dog on the bottom hook .we moved and anchored up again with dubby attached tooka bit longer for anchor to grip good few doggies we were holding bottom with 3lb of lead again davy had a good knock we hoped it was a spurdog but not to be but a conger just over the 20 lb mark and 2 doggies as well .the fishing slacked off after that all in all a good days fishing picked up alot of tips from davy a good decent angler thanks again for making the effort for us round trip 732 km

Sounds like you were well rewarded for your long trip. Davy is a top guy and knows that area of coastline very well judging by the results of all those who fish with him. He got me my first ever Huss :D :D
