South Wexford 23rd of Jan

#1 Post by trout hunter jnr »

People:me nd the elder

Duration:12 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Tide:Falling

Weather:Cold cold and a bit colder

Bait:Lug

Rigs:2 hooks

Results:1 pouting 25 codling 2 dabs 1 shore rockling

Report:Wake up call 8 a.m. and eventually leaving house at 8.20 ready for a days 'work' headed to off to buy bait and a bit of chat and by the time we were finished itwas 9.30 headed off for the wake up breakfest roll and then trekked off for the start of fishing via getting a new double bass bow after i broke it

Started fishing at a nearby mark from our favourite mark started fishing for a mark but yet we were homesick from our best cod mark   after a cast packed up and headed 2 our most popular mark. Cod were ok up to 3 or 4 oclock and then the fishing got better with a 2 nice additions 2 my present species hunt 2010; a 5 bearded rockling and a pouting. But all wasnt looking too well when the elder signalled that he had a big fish. As i prayed for a load of kelp on his line and that the big one was looking for my bait my prayers were unanswered    a nice cod the pic doesnt do it justice 8)

All in all a good days fishing and hopefully the start of many more to come  Came home to a nice bit of dinner with hunger being the best sauce

Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!
