To LURE FISH this weekend yay or nay

#1 Post by clownfish »

Lads looking for a bit of advice ,Its been a while posting so a belated happy new year to all you folks here on SAI ,So here it goes got a nice piece of spinning gear for xmas from my darling pregnant wife,And today received my parcel from Japan a fine collection of Japanese Bass killing lures to complete the jigsaw,I dont know if any of you guys have used a company called Ichiban Tackle before if not check them out ,made my order on saturday evening gone and received my order this morning ,very impressed and to top it off very reasonable and probably the biggest selection of lures i,ve seen in one place online, new and secondhand lures. So contemplating a fishing trip this Saturday to test out my new gear as the missus is staying overnight at a friends and basically gives me a rare free day to myself wooo hoooo.
Ok i,m a complete novice when it comes to lure fishing but 2010 is the year i,m going to put some extra effort in.
So lads looking for a mark that might fish this weekend if possible at all this time of year or am i just wasting my time and stick to bait fishing for now.Travelling from Dublin and willing to drive as far as south wex or possibly west waterford to fish a mark.Is anybody available to meet up to give a bit of knowledge and pointers and of course fish.Pms totally welcome
Kind regards
Jay

Possibly towards Monday as the water will be settling down and giving a bit of clarity. The only thing is the tides are crap!

Morning,

Have alook at my blog under Angling reports, it will give you an idea of the water conditions around Wexford at the moment.
As Pat said it should start to settle a bit between today and Tuesday with no rain forcast and light North, North Westerly winds.

Here Danny ,
Stop your thread Hijacking and start your own  Only joking with ya .If its any help Danny the water conditions in Waterford on saturday day and evening were pretty impressive ,i,m sure Seanie will back me up on this.A beautiful surf building up with the clarity of the water almost crystal clear on a certain Ardmore beach,Hopefully a positive sign of good forthcoming weather conditions.Seanie thx for your help and directions on saturday and again nice to meet ya ,Will defo be down to that part of the world in the next few weeks for a longer stay and will try hook up for a Bass session :D Will try to get a report up later of my weekend wont make for epic reading but still nice to get down that neck of the woods and do some exploring.Hit a spot on Sunday morning in youghal and fished for about 2 hours but soon got engulfed by the freezing fog and then decided to head to wicklow to meet up at another fishing mark where friends were fishing.

Cheers seanie,

I think it was a porpoise (open to correction), the carcass seem fresh, no smell or sign of decay. It had a fresh lump taken out of its head and tail. There was no marks on the back of it, like an encounter with a prop would create, or any marks that it had an encounter with a net. Strange.

Think there was some kind of chemical spill in my baiting mark which created them hulk peelers  ,Have a weeks holidays coming up in the beginning of march :P so i think that will be fine timing for another trip down to the sunny south with a shipment of juicy crab and lug and the hope of some nice weather and big fish :D .And maybe the little fella will hold off till his daddy gets a few nice sessions in before the due day :) .Nice to get the plugs out i,d say and who knows we both might be making bottles at that stage
