Clare 16th +17th

#1 Post by baitdigger »

People:Myself Saturday joined by Joe on Sunday

Duration: about 4 hours both days

Tide:Rising

Weather: hellfire and brimstone Saturday, bit of wind Sunday

Bait: lug, razor, sandeel squid and mac

Rigs:Pullies for me, 3 hook flappery thing for joe

Results:! small bass

Report:

With the weather clearing I headed of to dig from one of my marks, rain and a lot of freshwater run off made digging hard but I got some good quality worm, I moved to another mark to bring up the quantity of worm. It looked like this mark had seen some serious digging recently with massive trenches which hadnt been backfilled still showing after a few tides.
Headed out West and spent the next few hours witnessing the full spectrum of weather conditions. No fish showing.

I promised to meet Joe, Sunday so he could test his rod that Santa brought him. I dont like the mark but I believe others have been successful there. Nothing for the first couple of hours then one small bass

Joe followed up with a cracking carrier bag, which we both agreed put up a better scrap than my bass. He made up for no fish with his happiness with his new long rod which managed to punch a 6oz lead way out into the headwindImage

It was time to go home when the local hunt started charging up and down the beach

New phone, same number. I threw a load of lug back as I didnt think I would use it. I get out of 'school' about 4pm

Hi Neil, some conditions there on Saturday  We had hard going on Sunday for lug, we found good ones but were very deep had only time to look in one spot. Well done on the Bass, we were delayed on Sunday getting to our mark thanks to another hunt

Regards

Seamus

Unfortunatley the bag became very pale and lifeless when it was landed, Joe held it at arms length and stretched it out and in the shots it looked more like a bin liner than a carrier :?
