At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

ive been looking for a while and thought the new okuma soltera was it but the high speed one has no level wind.

Nearest I know of with LD and LW in the highest ratio is the ABU 6600 C3, ratio there is 5.3:1.

Your requirement for high retrieve ratio is a killer! :D

Level wind is for Wimps :D More trouble than it is worth IMO.

Think you will have to decide which thing to drop. :(
levelwind
lever drag
high retrieve ratio

I like lever drag and levelwind but not too fussed about rate of retrieve so have Penn 320LD, Shimano Charter Special etc. :D
If you drop lever drag the Daiwa Saltist have levelwind and high retrieve ratio.

Good luck

why would anybody thumb line when you can use a good level wind. i used not use them for the usual banter of fear like "they always fail" or "if you want to cast they cause too much friction" etc etc but once i tried one they are just too good not to have. you might as well say reels are for wimps, rods are for wimps, boats are for wimps IMO
