Elsewhere, seven containers were lost from a cargo vessel this afternoon off the south coast.

Strong winds and 25ft high waves have been recorded off the Waterford coast and they are believed to be a factor in the vessel, the BG Dublin, losing the seven containers around 20 miles south of Tramore.

It is not know what were in the containers.

The vessel was on its way to Cork and is now sheltering from the high winds, which are reaching speeds of up to 50 knots.

if it wasnt.. it is now...

nothing like a bit of sodium chloride on your chips.. :D
next they are going to state the other container contained acetic acid!!!

then it will be a case of 'bring the the chips'

Hi,
Just on a serious note for the few small boat heads on the site , who may be going fishing in the next couple of weeks off the south coast, these bloody containers have a terrible habit of floating about a couple of feet below the surface, so keep a good eye out  , as it will not make your day if you hit one at 25kts,( or 30kts if its Donal  ) it has happened !
If i see any whilst out and about , i will try and keep you updated with its lat and long.
regards
screeming
