The smoothies can be very plentiful in morriscastle at times, crab certainly sorts out the better ones although i have caught smaller hounds on rag and squid.
Night is a must and casting distance isn't really important, this weekend is perfect with the wind swinging southerly after being east for the week, it sohuld bring them in very close to the shore.
Morriscastle also throws up bass (a 7lber) on bank holiday monday, flounders and dogfish to beat the band. Apparently ray, tope and huss are possible but i've never really used big mackeral baits so i dont really know.
