People: Brian duggan, Tommy and jw

Duration: 0800-1800

Tide: perfect wreck tide - not too strong not too weak

Weather: very cold on the land, warm and light wind out to sea, ideal wreck conditions,
visibility very good in the water

Bait: shads, jigs, frozen mackerel and squid

Rigs: flowing traces, jig heads and running ledgers

Results: 2 pollack and a ling all around 8lb mark

Report: conditions looked ideal, fished a wreck around 40 miles from union hall.
the fish were in awkward mood, brian caught a ling using shad on flowing trace and
a pollack on baited muppets on the bottom

Day was much warmer than I expected. Calm conditions failed me with results one more time this year. It was good opportunity to try some new deep fishing techniques. Although, at the end of the day, good old pirks proven to be effective yet one more time.

jaysus lads it must have been warm no coats on all us land huggers were freezing to death weird !!!!
nice fishing but i have to say that picture of the dolphin gets photo of the year its brilliant well done lads and all the best for the new year happy christmas derek

Much warmer out at sea than on land,conditions seemed perfect,The skipper set the drifts up perfectly on the chosen wrecks,and when that wasnt successful we anchored,the only thing misssing was the fish,Sadly this is just another pointer to the fact that our fish stocks have been depleted beyond all recognition,this will of course result in a loss of business for skippers, B@B etc,Irish anglers have voted with their feet and now head to Norway and various other destinations overseas,Its difficult to see this situation improving any time soon which is a shame.

Couldn't Agree more... Real Pity, especially with the current recession.... Perhaps it is time to highlight the amount of cash heading to Norway from anglers that used to visit Ireland very often.....It's an awful shame.... To think that on 2009, even the pollock fishing in Kerry was a mere shadow of previous years.....
