I used it a few times last winter - complete waste of time
I didn't catch anthing at all with it - sometimes I was using two or three hook flappers, one hook baited with frozen black lug the others with mackerel or squid strips, sometimes the other hook with rag or razor. I got fish on all baits apart from the frozen lug.
Although if there are whiting around you will probably catch them on anything.

depends in the venue, tactics and species. but for flats i'd regard frozen lug to be a better bait than fresh. its not a bass bait, but when targetting flounder and small rounds; whiting, codling, coalies etc... its hard to beat when tipped with a strip of mack as keith mentioned. definitley worth a shot.

Ive fished it loads, even when ive had fresh lug as well. 2 day old stuff is even better  Ive had all the species eric mentioned but ive also had a few bass on it. Wrap two in into a sausage an fish on a pulley, doesnt work all the time but if you got nothing else its definitely worth a try.

like eric already said there are a lot of factors to take into consideration, but in my own experience they are deadly for flounder but not much else    , but don't let that put you off man. get some and give them a bash, it's the only way you'll ever know

it catches plenty of fish and can be refrozen. usually worth having if targeting flats, whiting and codling but will take other fish too. a hookshank size piece is enough and it can whipped to the hook, hook weaved in and out of it or whipped alongside another bait.
