waterford 3/11/09

#1 Post by seanie35 »

People:me and 2 bemused bystanders

Duration:2 hours

Tide:low at 11.20

Weather:very windy

Bait:crab

Rigs:

Results:`1 bass

Report:3 hours to kill waiting to collect the little one from playschool so headed to a little pier close by, wind was howling and the rod was swaying so fished from the car doing the crossword with a roll and coke for breakie    ah the life, tbh wasnt expecting anything when the rod got nearly yanked off the wall, 2 lads got out of their jeep to see the comotion, got 1 of them to hold the rod just after i beached it outside the pier then ran off to the little beach to get it nice bass about 5lb :P . real eye opener for me as the water was dark choclate colour and very shallow about 2 foot deep. got another huge tug about 20 mins later but lost it and another just before i left, was out last nite on a good beach and not a tap  , think i have the pier sussed and going back soon 8)

Nice Billy there seanie.

We found a couple of Billys last year around 2am just sitting inside a pier wall with their nose into the tide on the flood in shallow water. A big lug bait woke them up  .
