Hello All,
Does anyone know of good spots for Dabs and Flounders in the Shannon Estuary?

Hi Johnny,
Thanks for that. I'm over on the Clare side, but might make it over to Tarbert one of these days. I tried Knock pier in Clonderalaw bay last Sunday. Miserable day with heavy showers. I was using lug and mack strips on size 4 hooks. Crabs were a big problem - baits being stripped in a few minutes. I was about to pack up at 3.30 when I got a thump on one rod. Hauled in a nice flounder - 34cm, just under the half kilo. He took the mack strip.
I've heard that the area between Scattery Island and Kilrush Marina is good for Dabs - might try there next.
Regards,
Liam.
