well you could try two hook/three hook flappers that you can buy in any fishing shop, try to get ones with small hooks,1 or 1/0,mackerel,sandeel,lug,rag can also be bought and are great baits, put different baits on the hooks and see what bait catches.these will work equally well from beach or rock/pier marks, try fishing at night, its more productive especially if there is a high tide, fish for two hours before high tide,(the rise)and two hours after(the ebb),use two rods one cast out at distance and one close in,bass and flounder can be caught right at your feet,10-15 feet out on a beach.

Young fisher- if you are fishing around rocks don't be investing too heavily in expensive gear. During the bleek winter nights have a look on websites (youtube etc) and learn to tie up your own rigs. It is hard to beat the feeling of catching on something you have prepared yourself. we tie up our rigs and it does prove cost effective and gives you something to do when you cannot get out...

Unfortunately that is as far as my advice can go as I am unfamiliar with your territory but I am sure the guys on here will help you out. I hope you bass fishing bears more fruit than mine has done over the past 5 years (needless to say I am still waiting on my 1st one).
