Report:finally got out today god its been nearly a month headed out of the harbour went straight to the shallows
hit some macks all singles but very welcome we drifted for about an hour had 8 so we decided to head out to try for a few doggies baited with cuttlefish macks and squid again drifted for a hr blanked bait not touched so came back in to the back of the island started catching small codling in 3 and 4s on hokais there was maybe 30 taken in a short time we were getting
bored wih this so moved back in to the drift at the front of the island few more macks picked up
we headed over to wards balscadden on the way across the screen of the fishfinder lit up with fish in large amounts continous lines for 15minutes at a time got 1 or 2 good pollock biggest about 3lb but they wernt to gone on the hokais or any other rigs we tried would have loved to have brought some rag or lug but we did have a lot of fun trying to coax
these fish on to the hooks with different rigs most of the pollock we got on black hokais we got 16 good fish but also a heap
of small ones but a great day out with very light winds much better than most of the days during the summer hope to get out again wedsday will bring rag and lug this time
