North strand Courtown

#1 Post by mickriverforest »

Me & my mate Dave just fished the Courtown North strand (between the woods right beside the estury stream)
today from 11.15 until 5.15, we only stopped because we ran out of Ragworm & the squid bait was getting no results

We got plenty of good size doggies of 2 to 3 Lb and landed well into double figures &we also landed 7 small since plaice
all fish taken on Ragworm
We hit the beach just as the tide was turning, and the bites were coming fast, with some big hits on our gear.
I was using the Diawa Turbo HT7 & my century kompressor rod & the fish were out about 150 yards from shore while Dave used a large spinning real.
The plaice were small in size but again we landed approx 8 plaice.

But can anybody tell me what else can be caught here & does this area fish well at night?
