your beachcaster for the shore,20lb boat rod from the boat,the line,20lb on the beachcaster,same on the boat rod,but with both a serious shockleader,minimum 80lb for the shore rod,120lb for the boat rod,hope this helps.

well to be honest that sounds like no fun at all ! it looks to me like the gear you would use to drag conger in with ! if i was you id go much lighter ! 12lb mainline and 50lb leader and a 12-20 class rod ! great craic ! the only heavy gear i use is on the business end !
