Wednesday the 9th
As it was the first day of good weather we headed to dig some Lug & give the Wrasse a shot. Arrived at the beach got plenty of Lug very quick so things were looking good, next stop my secret rock mark but when we arrived the sea was very rough big swells running every few minutes, so was limited to a small gully that was safe to fish, baited up, was slow for 15 minutes but then bites started coming fast & furious & first up was a corkwing wrasse followed by 5 more then a nice surprise of a 3.5lb plump Pollack that gave a great scrap
Saturday 12th
With the Lug I had left over we made our way back to the same place as Wednesday was hoping the swells would have died down. When we got there it was still fairly rough but fishable & the sun was scorching. Started spinning for 20 min or so but nothing about. Time for bottom fishing. Set up & straight away into a lovely Ballan followed by a lot of small Corkwing Wrasse, started getting small strange little bites then I struck & reeled in a lovely coloured Tompot Blenny, a new species for the year so was very happy even tho he gave me a nice wee bite on my finger!. Fishing was very good, got plenty of Ballan best about 2lb, lost one nice one but was a great day out & lovely weather
