Malaysia/Singapore Species list: Grouper, Catfish (Salt water), Puffa fish, Barracuda, Sea Pike, Gar Fish, Giant Trevally, Leopard Murray Eel, Grass Carp, Sardine, Rainbow Runner, Chinese Mackerel, Flying Fish, Stingray, unidentified reef fish, Dorado (Dolphin Fish), Gelama, Ketuka, Flathead, Striped Tuna, Chicken Fish, Red Snapper, Fingermark Snapper, Emperor Snapper, White Snapper, Golden Snapper, Sweetlip, Blue Spotted Ray, Sailfish, Parrot Fish, Whiting and a whole bunch of others!

I was out there 3 weeks ago there seems to be a few fishing oppertuins around alright. I would advise taking your own gear if you can as the stuff out there is basically the same cost..no real bargins to be had. Light spinning outfit probably the best way to go and try an bag yourself a barracuda in the early morning or late afternoon. I went out on a days charter fishing as well, was grand not great, too many no fishing "spectators" a bit of hit n miss trolling and bottom fishing with squid baits for a few hours. Not a bad trip but they should have moved around a bit more, usual story really. Caught red snapper to 2lbs and some other fish looked a bit like a scorpin fish on looking it up at home.
There is some good advice on this forum but defo take gear with you, i wasted time searching for a rod and reel for the frist few days. (girlfriend calls it shopping, i call it wasting time).
