COBH -Jim Linehan -DEORA DE - Thanks !

#1 Post by lsher »

Hi,

Just returned from a great weekend fishing out of Cobh Cork .

I organised a group of 20 to fish Saturday 29th of Aug and Jim Linehan orgainsed his boat and 2 other to take us out .
We got lucky with the weather considering the Friday was miserable and so was the Sunday after .

All of the party that fished agreed that they had an excellent time and I cannot recommend Jim highly enough .
The fishing was great with many species caught but the highlight of the day was when we got into a batch of Congar with the first one landed around 15lb , the weights & sizes increased over the next hour with 8 Congars caught varying from 15lb to 24lb .

Jim knew his stuff and made sure we got to all the well know spots from wrecks to ridges then rocks and nets , his experience was second to none and i (along with all the lads) will definitely be returning . :D

Rgds

I knew slipping you that fiver would do the trick Luke :)

You Dubs are easily pleased, the fishing was slow enough for here due to one of, if not the slackest tide of the year. You done very well to get 8 congers yourself, a lot of comp anglers would have struggled to get 8 in those conditions.. That net is great for those beasties but becomes a right pain after a while when the boat swings a little and you all get constantly fouled in it, The best day this year on it was 84 or 85 of those slimy ugly creatures in just a couple of hours but a run of tide is required for best results  Next time we'll plan it for better tides!

Hope you all survived the night life of Cobh after and got home OK

That's the good or very bad thing depending which way you look at it about Cobh Luke
Next time give me a shout a bit in advance and we can pick out a date with a good tide
