Re: WRFB Fishing Awareness Weekend
Word went out over a week ago and we received coverage in several newspapers, and on local radio. The notice was also posted on CFB and WRFB websites. The Irish Times also mentioned it in the Angling Times section. So notice was not given "on the day". Just to let people know that.
The event was very successful, despite heavy rain showers at the start. 7 beginners turned up despite the weather, several of whom had heard about the event on radio or in the local paper last week. Most of them caught fish, and were delighted to learn about beach fishing. Flounder and turbot were caught, the biggest fish was about 33cm. Thanks to several members of the Galway Bay club for the loan of tripods and offers of assistance. The rods and reels were sponsored by Duffys Tackle Shop in Galway.

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
