glenarm co antrim 18/9/09

#1 Post by carp angler »

People: myself, alan

Duration: 5 hours

Tide: low to high

Weather: flat calm, slight overcast, pertfect

Bait: rag worm, lug

Rigs: 2 hook flappers

Results: 4 flounder, 4 codling

Report: headed to glenarm and where in the water for 6 ish. flat calm was the sea, and it wasnt long til the rod tips were getting a few knocks. cant remember the order they were caught but al got 2 flounder, and a codling, which i think is a new species for his tally, and i got 3 codling, and 2 flounder, and thats 2 new species for my tally. the fish were small tho ya might have made one fish finger per codling. did see a few fish jumpinng by the mouth of the river, and i fancied catching something bigger, so i was gonna have a go and see if i could catch the mermaid, til i relised it was just a girl swimming lol

anyway, the knocks on the rods were constant, and we soon went thru a couple of bbags of rag, at which point it was high tide, and dark, so we had a crack at spinning from the pier, to no avail tho

packed up and went home happy

Alright mate that was me that arrived at went to the left of the beach. Not a bad nights fishing. plenty of dogfish about as well. I only stayed until half ten myself. congrats on your two new spieces. there is also small plaice and coalfish at glenarm. I tried for conger but to no avail.

Hiya Thorniefish, we seen you in the distance. If you weren't so far away I'd have dandered over and said hello. Do you think that end of the beach is better?

same as that. yeah thats the better end of the beach. A decent cast will put u on to better fish. I arrived a bit later than I wanted to so I quickly set up. handy wee spot for a couple of hours fishing.
