does anyone use fluro carbon for sea fishing. i have used it for mullet and since i started i have caught a lot more mullet. does it work for other species too or does not make any difference.

fluoro is worth a shot Dan although i wouldn't believe all the hype. the fluoro filler spools are better value and often a better line:wink:

I use it for flat fish. main problem with it is that it retains memory, so as soon as you get a tangle its useless. Very effective though

Was going to get some for my leader for lure fishing, i think i might change my mind. :x

Its too expensive to use for all leaders, but for fish that are easily spooked it is definitely a Good Job. There seems to be an issue with Knot strength tho. I lost several Pollack at the Culdaff festival, using 20lb Stren tinted fluoro as the line seemed to just snap. A few guys told me not to buy anything other than seaguar fluoro leader. I got it and used it at the greencastle festival, and never lost a fish, same story at Bundoran last weekend.

Hi i use 12 lb fluro carbon leader for plugging for bass connected to 20 lb red power pro braid it works really well good knot strenght doesnt tangle after 8 lb bass and is cheap 6.50 for 100 m its hiro brand dos me :D :D :D

here we go again with the flouro , if you could catch fish years ago on 30 lb mono itll still work today :? bait presentation be more important id say :!:

i know that it makes a big difference with mullet and tench nd carp when i am coarse fishing. i will try it for other species and see if it is any better than the amnesia that i use.

There is no need for fluro carbon sea fish are not as spooky as coars fish

people dont use flouro in sea angling because they believe its invisible, they use it because its has a different feel to normal mono. it stands off the rigs better and doesnt tangle as much as normal mono. i use it on all my match rigs

i used fluro carbon for my wrasse and mullet fishing too...great stuff 8)
