Browns bay 16/08/09

#1 Post by boyler »

People:Me

Duration:5pm tp 7pm

Tide:HT @ 7pm

Weather:Rain and gale force winds

Bait:Mac and Lug

Rigs:2 hook flappers

Results:1 Dogfish:1 Coalfish:1 Pollack.

Report:Decided to head to Browns bay for a quick session and arrived at 4:45pm,got out of the car to be greeted with gale force winds but decided to give a go anyways.Got set up just past the painted rock and soon as i cast i knew it was going to be hard going as the 3oz gripper alsmost came back at me,So i decided to put on a 5 oz which helped and after about 10 mins got a good knock which resulted in a nice doggie(blank saved) :D After that it was slow for a while but the wind made bite detection very hard indeed. Then i got a small knock which resulted in a small coalfish then about 15 mins after that a small Pollack was landed which considering the wind it wasn't to bad.I had planned to stay untill about 10pm but decided to leave around 7pm as the wind made it an absolute nightmare to fish.
