All,
This maybe a bit basic. I don't know how to tie a float for float fishing. I have two types one is like a bobber in the shape of an acorn with a hole going straight through from the top of it, and a detachable plastic stick in the middle with a hole at one end of it.
Another, is a long, maybe styropore but not really, more like a hardened compressed form. It has a hole going straight through it from the top like the other one, It's shaped like a long tube, getting narrower at the bottom.
Thanks for any help or link.

Re: Tying floats?
The first one is what's called a pike bung, you just slip your line in through the hole then trap it with the plug stem. Limited use because you can only fish at depths less than your rod and the shape affords considerable resistance to the fish.
The secod one is a sliding float and you rig it like this - http://www.planetseafishing.com/rigs/Sl ... ding-Float
You can also get floats which are mounted just at the bottom like this one for mullet - http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/traces(s).htm

Re: Tying floats?
put a bead on the line then the float then a weight like a drilled bullet lead. then tie a swivel to that tie your line attached to the hook unto the oer end of the swivel to stop the float going up the line use an elastic band or a stopknot.
